These are great to serve with drinks when the crowd comes by, or just make a few on date night. For that reason I did not include measurements. Make as many or as few as you want. They can be prepared ahead of time and grilled up when your guests arrive.

  • Black Mission Figs
  • Serrano Ham or Prosciutto slices
  • Gorgonzola cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar

Slice figs halfway through from stem to base . Do not cut in half. Stuff the fig with the gorgonzola cheese and gently squeeze the fig to close. take a slice of serrano or prosciutto and wrap around fig .Secure with a toothpick.

In a small saucepan gently boil Balsamic vinegar until it thickens and becomes a syrup, about 5 mins.

Heat stovetop grill pan or prepare outdoor grill. Brush figs with olive oil and grill on all sides about 6-7 minutes until the ham becomes crisp and cheese is melted. Remove the toothpick , arrange on a platter and drizzle with balsamic syrup.
