When it comes to steak everyone has their own personal favorites. So use whatever cut you like . Rib eyes , T-Bones or NY Strip. Prepared this way , they will all put a smile on your face.


  • 3/4 inch thick Steaks ( Rib eye, T-bone or NY Strip)
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Sea Salt & Freshly Ground Pepper
  • A mixture of chopped herbs (Thyme, Rosemary, Oregano,)
  • Chopped Italian Parsley
  • Dried Porcini Mushrooms

Placed steaks in a glass dish , sprinkle with salt, pepper , chopped herbs, and  parsley. Pour about 1 tablespoon of olive oil on each steak and massage the herb mixture into the steaks. Let marinate in the refrigerator for a few hours. Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let come to room temperature. If you are using a charcoal grill , nows the time to get the fire going.

In a spice grinder or mini food processor grind the dried porcini mushrooms to a powder.

Remove the steaks and wipe off the excess marinade. Coat both sides with the porcini powder.

Grill over the flame for and 4 mins per side for medium , or for as little or long until they are done to your liking.

Optional- top with a pat of good quality butter or some gorgonzola.
